Program: Webodex 2.0 BETA 2b (wdx20b2b.exe) Uploaded By: Christopher Forgeron (cforger@nova.novaweb.ca) Short Description: A Bookmark organizer for Netscape, Mosaic, and other WWW Browsers. Web Site: http://novaweb.com/webodex Extract from our Press Release: A software program that can organize the Net? Novaweb Internet Productions today announced the introduction of Webodex Organizer, a companion piece to Netscape, Mosaic and other browsers, that enables users to store, organize and easily access their favorite sites and addresses. Featuring an on-screen graphic reminiscent of traditional electronic organizers, Webodex is compatible with a variety of Internet browsers and launches World Wide Web, FTP, newsgroup, gopher and E-mail addresses. It fully integrates Internet applications with traditional software such as word processing, graphics and data programs. "The Web can be a confusing place", explains the developer, Dan Amberman. "Hundreds of thousands of sites have long and complicated addresses ( difficult to type, almost impossible to remember)." Hotlists and bookmarks only work for one program and are often lost when switching or upgrading software. Webodex lets users import and replace current lists, import lists from sites, databases and search engines, and even comes pre-loaded with a number of useful addresses. It offers helpful features such as the ability to configure buttons, add dates and comments about site visits and also lets individuals and organizations distribute full-color "business cards" or "mini-home pages" to other Webodex users. Webodex Organizer can be downloaded at no cost at http://novaweb.com/webodex as testware. Internet users can also purchase a commercial version for about $14.95 US or $19.95 Canadian. The program works on all Windows-compatible computers. Macintosh and Windows 95 versions are also being developed.
